Solide exemplaire de ce rare traité. Originaire de France, Ossaye arriva au Canada en 1851 et on lui confia la direction de la première ferme expérimentale au pays (DBC). «Les veillées canadiennes» est présenté sous la forme d'une conversation entre un canadien-français et un fermier écossais de qui il prendra des leçons d'agriculture pour tenter de l'imiter par la suite.
